Today I want to talk about making changes and thinking outside the box.

Mostly this is about *surprise* politics!

You may have heard about a bill proposed in congress. "The plan unveiled today by House Appropriations Committee Chairman David R. Obey, Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman John P. "Jack" Murtha and Rep. Jim McGovern would spread the sacrifice among all taxpayers by tacking a "war surcharge" on top of the federal income tax. Americans would pay up to 15 percent more on their taxes in order to raise the $150 billion needed annually to keep the war going." Click here

The idea here is that those wealthy people making big bucks off the war would rebel at the idea of paying for it and stop the funding of the war by refusing extra taxes. My idea is that this is too easy. So far, no money hasn't presented a problem for these people. The Government just prints more paper (or actually creates new electronic funds) and continues on, sending us more in debt. Instead of getting more money through taxes, Why not just have a tax revolt! Everyone just refuses to pay any taxes as long as the war continues. Just refile your withholding for zero dollars witheld. Then don't file taxes at all. Not only does that show support for stopping this war, it also cuts all Government funding period! If our senators and representitives aren't listening to us, that should get thier attention real fast!

We also need to stop all these "pending" wars and conflicts. I suggest every citizen spend $2.00 to buy a piecec of paper,an envelope and an international airmail stamp. Then write a letter to any leader of a government that you feel might be one of our pending "enemies."

My letter would go to President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela . It might read like this:

Dear Sir, I decided to write you this letter to let you know that the American people do not hate you or Venezuela, and do not want any conflict with your country. Some of us have been swayed by our news and other propaganda to take an unfavorable view of your government. Just because elements in Our Government have some conflict with you does not mean our people agree. It's difficult in today's world to make an informed opinion about world leaders and world events. If anything it is the overabundance of information, mostly biased, rather than the paucity of it that creates this problem. As far as I can tell, you seem to be actively trying to improve the wellbeing of your poorest citizens. Please continue providing concerned and helpful government to those who need help the most. Sincerely, Curiouoso*
